Press Council of India May Get to Scan Books Over Paid News

The books and financial statements of both print and electronic media can be examined by the Press Council of India (PCI) and tallied against the bills raised by the various advertising agencies to detect the paid news menace if prima facie cases of indulgence in ‘paid news’ surface against any media organisations.
